Africa-Press – Kenya. KCB football team are optimistic of a fantastic 2022-23 season after beating Kefwa FC 5-2 in a friendly clash at the KCB Leadership Centre, Karen today.
The bankers twice had to come from behind before putting the game to bed with quick fire goals in the second half following a 2-2 all draw at the breather.
Kefwa comprise ex-Kenyan Premier League players who are currently free agents.
The bankers who were full of guile and effort levelled Majak David’s effort in the first half through James Mazembe before Haniff Makale scored an own goal to give Kefwa a 2-1 lead.
Kenyan international full-back Harun Mwale squeezed a through ball to forward Enock Agwanda who finished the move sumptuously that saw the scores stand at 2-2 at the break.
KCB showed their strength and might in the second half when midfielder and skipper Michael Mutinda forced a thunderous shot to make it 3-2 before Michael Oduor and Hillary Dukussy completed the rout.
Head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno said: “We’re happy with the win since it gives us the confidence to face our opponents as we move closer to the start of 2022/23 Kenyan Premier League season.”
KCB face KPL sides Kariobangi Sharks and Talanta FC this weekend.
