Africa-Press – Kenya. Veteran coach Kenneth Kenyatta has joined struggling National Super League side Darajani Gogo. The Kibra-based side unveiled Kenyatta on Thursday alongside his assistant Caleb Aringa, popularly known as “Stitchez”.
Kenyatta, a former international goalkeeper, previously coached several top flight clubs, including Kakamega Homeboyz and FC Talanta. Aringa returns to the club and had a brief stint with SportPesa League side Shabana FC.
The club is rooted in the relegation zone. They sit 17th on the log with 24 points from 27 games. Kenyatta and Aringa face a Herculean task to save the club with 11 games to go.
The fate of coach Kelly Ogutu, who took over from Andrew Ongwae, remains unclear. Kenyatta and Aringa’s first assignment will be against fellow strugglers Kabati Youth at Gems Cambridge College in Nairobi.
“This strategic restructuring marks a significant step forward in the club’s long-term vision of growth, competitiveness, and professional excellence both on and off the pitch,” the club said in a statement.
“The arrival of coach Kenyatta brings renewed energy, modern tactical insight, and strong leadership aimed at building a disciplined, competitive, and results-driven squad capable of achieving the club’s ambitions.”
Aringa, whose passion for player development, deep understanding of the game, and commitment to teamwork are expected to play a key role in strengthening the squad’s performance and saving the club from relegation.
The club reiterated that the new technical team represents a fresh direction focused on improving performance standards, nurturing talent, and creating a winning mentality.
