Africa-Press – Lesotho. Department of Traffic and Transport under the Ministry of Public and Transport held a sensitisation meeting for transport operators who use F-Permit to transport goods only in and out of the country.

The meeting took place in Mokhotlong on Friday.

The Chief Transport Inspector Ms. Thakane Motuba who is also a Focal Person on the Lesotho National Single Window (LNSW) Project said the permit is used for cross border trade and today’s meeting was to introduce the portal to F-Permit users.

She encouraged them to apply for the permit online and at the comfort of their zone as the permit will no longer be issued manually.

Ms. Motuba explained that they can apply online through the website: www.lnsw.gov.ls while they still have to approach the Offices in different district to pay for the permit.

She the department of Traffic and Transport started to use the system from October 20 this year and has since visited districts to sensitive users on how it operates.

One of the meeting participants, Mr. Ntsimane Mosoang said the system is going to help them to apply at the comfort of their homes and requested that payments be digitalised as well.

Lesotho National Single Window is a one-stop electronic portal for the application and issuance for all types of regulatory approvals required for international trade.
