Africa-Press – Lesotho. A beekeeping project in Phamong, Shalane Mohale’s Hoek is progressing smoothly following the first sample of harvesting recently, Rural Self-Help Development Association (RSDA) Managing Director Lesotho has said.
Speaking with the Agency. Mrs. ‘Mampho Thulo mentioned that through RSDA Tache ’Foundation that has supported the said project with thousands of Maloti, has sponsored the community with beekeeping equipment namely, refractometer, brooding boxes and electric honey extract.
According to the Managing Director, through this project it is anticipated to ensure promotion of quality livelihoods of the community, RSDA aims to eradicate extreme hunger and improve the lives of rural Basotho.
She stated that the above equipment is important, making an example with a refractometer which she said will go a long way in measuring water in honey, adding the intention is to bring together farmers for growth and development of the project.
