Speaking at the signing, Dolley lauded the “steady evolution” of the partnership.
He revealed that the sponsorship increased by L100,000 over the previous season, jumping fromL400,000 to the current half-million Liberian Dollar mark a sign of growing corporate confidence in the team’s trajectory.
“Every season comes with renewed commitment, and this partnership continues to evolve in a positive direction,” Dolley told the gathering.
Corporate Commitment to Youth
For Bukonjadeh, which was established in 2008 with the goal of transforming Liberia’s microfinance sector, this deal represents a “permanent acknowledgment” of CEO Elton Johns’ continuous contributions to the sporting sector.
Johns described the sponsorship as a strategic investment in the future of the country.
He praised D-Rockas for its role in mentoring young women and redirecting their focus toward personal growth and disciplined athletics.
“We are proud to be part of this journey,” Johns said. “What D-Rockas is doing to uplift young girls and change lives is commendable, and we are committed to increasing our support rather than reducing it.”
For the club’s leadership, the funds are a lifeline for young female athletes. Dolley emphasized that the investment provides a constructive outlet for players to develop their skills while staying away from negative social influences.
“This partnership is about more than basketball it is about shaping the future of young Liberian women and giving them a platform to succeed,” Dolley added.
Johns concluded the ceremony with a challenge to the broader Liberian business community, urging other firms to emulate Bukonjadeh’s example by investing in women’s athletics, which often faces a significant funding gap compared to men’s sports.
As the new LBA season kickoff , the renewed deal marks a significant milestone for D-Rockas. With financial stability secured, the club now turns its focus to the court, aiming to translate this corporate support into championship success.
