ISSA Basketball Quarterfinals Continue Today with Two High-Stakes Matchups

Africa-Press – Liberia. ISSA President Mr. Garyonleweh Zepu has issued a reminder to all school sports directors to ensure their students and players maintain discipline during and after the games.
The quarterfinal stage of the 2024/2025 Inter-School Sports Association (ISSA) Basketball League resumes today, Thursday, April 24 at the Sports Commission on Broad Street, with two key matches set to decide the remaining semifinal slots.

In the day’s opener, Sadia High School will go head-to-head with Assembly of God Mission (AGM) School, Caldwell Road, while B.W. Harris will face off against Monrovia College in the second match.

SOS and the College of West Africa (CWA) have already secured their places in the semifinals. The winner of the Sadia vs. AGM Caldwell Road clash will advance to meet CWA, while the victor between B.W. Harris and Monrovia College will take on SOS.

Monrovia College head coach Andrew A. Kallon emphasized the importance of today’s game and called on his players to stay focused.

“Today, the only result we need to advance is a victory over B.W. Harris. That victory will only come through controlling the ball, using our experience, and capitalizing on scoring opportunities,” Coach Kallon said.

Meanwhile, ISSA President Mr. Garyonleweh Zepu has issued a reminder to all school sports directors to ensure their students and players maintain discipline during and after the games.

“We continue to emphasize to sports directors that the ISSA League’s primary purpose is to nurture youth talent in football, kickball, and basketball,” Zepu said. “We will not tolerate lawlessness or any behavior that could damage the limited facilities we currently use.”

The ISSA League has been a key platform for showcasing young talent and promoting inter-school sportsmanship across Liberia.
