Africa-Press – Malawi. The young Cops from area 30, Blue Eagles RSV who plays in Central Region Standard Bank UNAYO Division One League are upbeat of finishing within top two teams from their group C.

Ackim Kazombo, head coach for the team, made the sentiments in the week after his team recovered from unpleasant run in the league by defeating Chitedze Strikers FC 6-1 at home, Nankhaka Stadium.

Kazombo said with the remaining two games against Kamba FC away and Young Professionals at home to wind up the first round of the MK15.3 million Unayo league as his charges is equally ready for the task and bang all the 6 points which will take their tally to 24 points.

“We have been struggling because some of our players were busy taking their JCE exams,now they have returned and the team has ignited fire and energy. Don’t rule us out yet we are also looking forward to win the championship of the UNAYO league and I am sure we will make it”, Kazombo said.

Currently Blue Eagles RSV are sitting on position 4 with 18 points from 12 games,they have managed to win 5 games,drew 3 and lost 4. Leading the group C are Lizulu Super Stars FC who have 24 points from 13 games,they won 7 games, drew 3,lost 3 games.Kamba FC are second with 23 points from 11 games,won 7,drew 2 and lost 2.

Balang’ombe Real Bombers are on position 3 with 21 points,won 6 games,drew 3 and lost 4. Santhe ADMARC FC still reign group B with 31 points from 13 games,winning 10,drew once and lost 2 games,Nsaru United are second in the group with 21 points from 13 games.

On third position are Zaithwa FC who have played 11 games, winning 6,drew 1 and lost 4 games with 19 points.Mahempe FC from Mchinji are on number 4 with 18 points from 13 games.

Make Sure Pirates and Kasiya Hungry Tigers FC are tied on 22 points in group A but Pirates lead the group on better goal difference and have played 10 and 12 games respectively.

Obings Pirates FC and Hope Academy FC are also tied on 20 points after playing 11 and 10 games,Obings are on third position with better goal difference.

The MK15.3 Standard Bank UNAYO Central Region Division One first round is anticipated to finish by the end of September. Four top teams from the three groups will make it to the second round and they will be paired into two groups of 6.

Three top teams from the two groups will qualify to the final round in which the champion, will be determined. Standard Bank of Malawi and Football Association of Malawi (FAM) signed a one year contract worthy MK46 million for division one regional leagues.
