Africa-Press – Mauritius. The newly appointed Ombudsperson for Financial Services, Mr Chitrunjun Sowambur, was sworn into office, yesterday, before the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Dharam Gokhool, during a ceremony held at the State House in Le ReĢduit.
In a statement following the ceremony, Mr Sowambur underscored the essential role of the Office of the Ombudsperson for Financial Services as an impartial and independent body responsible for investigating and resolving complaints lodged by consumers against financial service providers.
He further expressed his commitment to advancing the work of his predecessor, with a view to bolstering consumer confidence and promoting best practices across the financial services sector.
