Africa-PressMozambique. The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) has warned of winds of up to 30 knots (60 km/h) 50 miles off the Mozambican coast. Wind will be northeast to east, 10-20 knots (20 – 40 km/h), with gusts up to 27 knots (54 km/h).

INAM forecasts seas from slightly choppy to choppy, with waves reaching 2.5 meters.

Regarding the weather onshore, INAM forecasts possible cloudy skies and light rain or drizzle locally, winds blowing from southeast to northeast, weak to moderate in the north and centre of the country.

The cities of Nampula, Pemba and Lichinga may register maximum temperatures of 27°C, 30°C and 26°C and minimum temperatures of 17°C, 20°C and 12°C respectively.

Beira, Chimoio, Tete and Quelimane, in the centre of the country, may register maximums of 27°C, 26°C, 29°C and 28°C and minimums of 18°C, 13°C, 20°C and 18°C respectively.

In the southern part of the country, light cloudy skies and winds are expected to blow from the northeast, sometimes light to moderate, north. The cities of Maputo, Xai-Xai, Inhambane and Vilankulo could record highs of 32°C, 29°C, 27°C and 26°C and lows of 16°C, 17°C, 20°C and 15°C respectively.
