Africa-Press – Mozambique. Mozambique is eager and determined to advance cooperation with China in various fields, according to Mozambican President Daniel Chapo.
In an exclusive interview with China Media Group (CMG) that aired Friday, Chapo highlighted the enduring friendship between Mozambique and China, which dates back even before the two countries established diplomatic relations 50 years ago.
“First of all, I want to express my gratitude for this interview, which allows us an opportunity to discuss the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mozambique and China. The bond between our countries and peoples is as strong as that of brothers. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of Mozambique’s independence, making this anniversary even more significant. As I mentioned, the relationship between Mozambique and China has thrived since its inception during our struggles for national independence, was formalized upon Mozambique’s independence in 1975, and has continued to grow robustly,” he said.
The president also reaffirmed Mozambique’s intention to deepen collaboration with China in various areas.
“Today, we see that bilateral relations remain strong and are constantly being reinforced and expanded. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the Chinese government and people for their contributions to the friendly ties between our two countries. I would also like to take this opportunity to affirm our determination and eagerness to further enhance cooperation in various fields, including the economy, society, culture, environment and sports,” he said.
