Africa-Press – Mozambique. Year-on-year inflation stood at 6.84% in February, Mozambique’s National Statistics Institute (INE) announced this Thursday, a decline in relation to January.
Year-on-year inflation in January stood at 7.8% and dropped 96 basis points in February, according to the most recent Consumer Price Index (CPI) bulletin.
According to the INE, inflation in Mozambique is mainly influenced by food and beverage prices.
The Consumer Price Index is calculated by the INE from the price changes of a basket of goods and services, with data collected in three cities: Maputo, Beira and Nampula.
