Africa-Press – Mozambique. Rwandan entrepreneurs are interested in diversifying their financial involvement in Mozambique in the near future through investment in the production of tea, coffee and dairy products; in the extractive industry, logistics and tourism; and the importation of various products.

According to ‘Notícias’, this intention was expressed in Kigali during the 24th edition of the Rwanda International Trade Fair, in which Mozambique participated.

At the end of the meeting, Mozambique was declared “Best Foreign Exhibitor Country”.

More than 400 exhibitors from 15 countries took part in the fair, which provided an opportunity for interaction through “B2B” [business-to-business] and “B2C” [ business-to-consumer,] meetings, with the aim of establishing partnerships and exploring new investment and business opportunities in the face of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

During the fair, a Mozambican delegation headed by the director general of the Agency for the Promotion of Investment and Exports (APIEX), Gil Bires, promoted the potential and opportunities for national investment and exports.

The delegation also included staff from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce through the National Directorate of Industry, the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy, the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources and the I Fund for Investment and Assets of Water Supply (FIPAG), alongside several companies seeking to explore opportunities and establish partnerships in the Rwandan market.

This was Mozambique’s first participation in the Rwanda International Fair, an event organized by the Private Sector Federation (PSF) in partnership with the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MINICOM), the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and other key institutions.
