Africa-Press – Namibia. AIR Connect Namibia has welcomed Airlink’s introduction of a second daily flight between Walvis Bay and Johannesburg, which began on 4 July 2025.
The added frequency strengthens regional connectivity, boosting access for business and leisure travellers between Namibia’s west coast and South Africa’s economic hub.
“This expansion enhances Walvis Bay’s role as a trade and tourism gateway for southern Africa,” said Bisey /Uirab, CEO of the Namibia Airports Company and spokesperson for Air Connect Namibia. “It demonstrates what effective collaboration can achieve for Namibia’s air access.”
Walvis Bay is a key link for tourism, logistics and energy sectors, offering visitors access to the Namib Desert, Swakopmund and the Namib-Naukluft National Park.
Air Connect Namibia is a public-private initiative launched in 2024 to improve air access nationwide.
