Golden Moment for Weitz
Marike Weitz, a learner from Windhoek Gymnasium, delivered a stellar performance in the girls’ shot put, claiming gold with a powerful throw of 16.32 metres. The rising star, coached by Christine van der Linde, had already made headlines earlier in the week after securing bronze in the discus throw with a distance of 44.84 metres.
Relay Team on the Podium
Namibia’s U18 medley relay team also stepped onto the podium, clinching a bronze medal and continuing the country’s medal-winning momentum at the championships.
Bronze for Ansune Smith
Ansune Smith, a learner from Windhoek Gymnasium, won the bronze in the Hammer Throw Girls u/18 with a distance of 47.48.
These achievements mark a proud moment for Namibian athletics, showcasing the young talent emerging on the continental stage.
