Africa-Press – Namibia. President Hage Geingob has congratulated re-elected president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo.
Geingob said this on Monday in a press release.
The electoral process on 20 December encompassed presidential, legislative, provincial, urban, municipal, and local council elections.
“I look forward to continuing to work with president Tshisekedi to strengthen our bilateral relations for the prosperity of our two fraternal nations,” said Geingob.
Geingob said both leaders are set to collaborate on promoting an integrated and prosperous continent through initiatives like the African Continental Free Trade Area.
Tshisekedi secured approximately 73% of the vote.
His closest competitor, Moise Katumbi, trailed with 18%, according to official reports.
