The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) has won the prestigious Lonely Planet Award at the 2025 World Travel Market (WTM) London.

The award celebrates Namibia’s selection as one of the top global destinations

featured in Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel.

As one of the world’s most trusted travel authorities, Lonely Planet selected Namibia for its distinctive signature experiences, dramatic and diverse landscapes, steadfast commitment to conservation, and vibrant cultural heritage.

During the award presentation, NTB’s CEO, Sebulon Chicalu emphasised the award’s monumental significance for Namibia. “Being recognised in Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel is a powerful endorsement of our country’s beauty and our collective effort to promote sustainable and authentic tourism. This award will undoubtedly inspire travellers across the world to experience the magic of Namibia,” he said.

Lonely Planet is a travel guide-book publisher founded in Australia in 1973. The company has printed over 150 million books.

NTB’s manager of corporate communication, Flora Quest highlighted the influence of Lonely Planet and the Power of Best in Travel Lonely Planet, saying it stands among the most influential names in global travel media.
