Africa-Press – Namibia. TEAMS from the Southern African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management (SASSCAL) and the Namibia Students Financial Assistance Fund (NSFAF) are currently in the Hardap Region to assist individuals interested in applying for scholarships under the Green Hydrogen Programme.

These scholarships form part of the third call for applications to the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programme, targeting young people from the Hardap and //Kharas Regions as part of the Namibia Green Hydrogen Programme. Application forms are available at the Office of the Hardap Governor and can also be accessed online via the following link: https://jcoinamger.sasscal.org/scholarship-call-2025.

The initiative offers fully funded training opportunities to Namibian youth between the ages of 18 and 35 from the two southern regions. Successful applicants will pursue TVET Certificate courses in fields that are directly aligned with the green hydrogen value chain and complementary sectors. These include areas such as welding and boilermaking, fitting and turning, solar installation and maintenance, automotive mechatronics, electrical engineering, and plumbing and pipe fitting.

To qualify for the programme, applicants must hold a Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate (Ordinary Level, Grade 11) with a minimum of 18 points, or a Junior Secondary Certificate from the old curriculum (Grade 10) with at least 20 points. Where applicable, candidates may first be enrolled in a six-month bridging programme, which serves as a pathway to Level 1 or Level 2 mainstream TVET courses upon successful completion.

The scholarship will cover key expenses, including registration and tuition fees, personal protective equipment, and the relevant toolbox required for training. Additionally, recipients will receive a monthly stipend to help offset basic living costs for the duration of their studies.
