Africa-Press – Nigeria. Victor Osimhen is the natural leader in the Super Eagles team, according to former international, Emmanuel Amuneke.
Amuneke noted that the former Lille of France and Napoli striker has not changed in the way he approaches the national team ever since he made his debut.
Amuneke, a multiple Africa Cup of Nations player, spoke ahead of the Super Eagles encounter with Tunisia on Saturday, telling Victor Modo that the Galatasaray striker has always shown a good attitude towards the national team right from his U17 days.
“One thing I can always tell you is that when I look back at Osimhen, the same character he is demonstrating as a leader, is what he has done over the years,” he said.
He said it would be of utmost joy for him to see Victor Osimhen lift the AFCON trophy for Nigeria, insisting the former African Player of the Year deserves to win the tournament.
After playing out a hard-fought 2-1 win over Tanzania in their first game of Morocco 2025, the Super Eagles are faced with a bigger challenge against Tunisia on Saturday.
While the three-time African champions are expected to beat their North African opponents, the Carthage Eagles would also want to win the game to keep the grip on the Group C top spot.
