Africa-Press – Rwanda. Gisagara Volleyball Club , taking full advantage of their home ground, stunned Police VC in straight sets (25-20, 25-17, 25-23) in the third round of the 2025/26 Rwanda Volleyball National League (RVNL).
The match, held on Saturday at Gisagara Gymnasium, was part of a weekend that featured only men’s fixtures. The Southern Province-based side continued their strong start to the season, marking their third consecutive win.
Under the guidance of Coach Yakan Laurence Guma, Gisagara showed dominance early on, taking the opening set 25-20. The second set followed a similar pattern, with Police VC struggling in reception and failing to maintain consistency as Gisagara sealed it 25-17.
In the final set, Police attempted a comeback but were met by a resilient performance from Gisagara, who closed the set 25-23 to complete the sweep, led by captain Syvestre Ndayisaba.
In another matchup, defending champions APR Volleyball Club (VC), coached by Sammy Mulinge, were upset by Kepler VC, who finished fourth last season. Kepler delivered an impressive performance, defeating APR in straight sets (25-20, 25-21, 33-31).
This marked Kepler’s second victory of the season, Meanwhile, East Africa University Rwanda (EAUR) also registered their first win by overcoming Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) 3-1 (25-21, 17-25, 25-23, 25-21). Despite playing three matches so far, KVC remain winless.
Elsewhere, Kirehe VC, representing the Eastern Province, continued to struggle, losing to RP-Ngoma VC 1-3 (19-25, 20-25, 25-22, 19-25) in the third round.
