Africa-Press – Rwanda. Effective January 10, everyone seeking services at court halls will need to present a mandatory Covid-19 vaccine certificate and a negative test for Covid.
According to the communique signed by Harrison Mutabazi, the Spokesperson of the Judiciary, the move is in line with adherence to the national preventive protocols against Covid-19.
“We would like to inform all lawyers and others seeking services from the courts to present a 24-hour Covid test and a vaccine,” read the statement. This is one of the efforts to limit the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, added the statement.
The directive follows several other public facilities where the Covid-19 vaccine is mandatory, and these include piblic transport, markets, places of worship, bars and restaurants among others.
Rwanda is among African countries with a higher population percentage which is vaccinated. As of January 7, over 5.6 million Rwandans were fully inoculated against Covid-19 whereas over 7.7 had obtained their first dose. Over 310,000 people had also obtained the booster.
