Africa-Press – Rwanda. The AFC/M23 rebellion movement has condemned airstrikes carried out by the Congolese army in South Kivu province on Friday, September 19, causing civilian deaths.

The rebels accused the army of targeting densely populated civilian areas using a Sukhoi-25 fighter jet and drones.

“This morning, Friday, September 19, the coalition forces of the terrorist regime in Kinshasa violently bombarded the densely populated areas of Bibwe, Nyenge, Chytso, Hembe, and their surroundings,” AFC/M23 spokesperson Lawrence Kanyuka said in a post on X.

According to him, the airstrikes, conducted with a Sukhoi-25 fighter jet and CH-4 drones, resulted in the deaths of numerous civilians and forced the displacement of several residents.
