Africa-Press – Rwanda. Gasabo Primary Court has postponed the bail hearing of Adolphe Kalisa, commonly known as Camarade, the former Secretary General of Rwanda Football Association (FERWAFA), to Thursday, September 25.
The hearing had initially been scheduled for Friday, September 19, but was adjourned at the request of the defence, which sought more time to review the case.
Kalisa faces charges of embezzlement and forgery, according to the prosecution.
His lawyer told the court that Kalisa had not had enough time to thoroughly read the case file and discuss it with them, hence the request for additional preparation time.
The court ruled in favour of the defence and granted the adjournment, rescheduling the hearing on detention and provisional release to September 25 at 9:00 a.m.
Kalisa served as FERWAFA Secretary General from August 2023 until July this year, when the executive committee led by former president Alphonse Munyantwali completed its term. He also previously held the same position at APR FC.
