APR Aims to Defend Genocide Memorial Tournament Title

Africa-Press – Rwanda. APR Handball Club is determined to successfully defend the Handball Genocide Memorial Tournament in the handball category which kicks off on Friday, May 30.

In a media interview, Anaclet Bagirishya, the team’s head coach, said they are focused on reclaiming the trophy and putting recent league playoff losses to Police HC behind them.

“We have prepared well. We need to stay calm and ready for the challenge,” he noted.

APR begins its campaign against Uganda’s Makerere University on Friday at 7PM at Petit Stade. Another key fixture features Rwanda’s Police HC taking on UPDF (Uganda) at 5PM at the NPC Gymnasium.

The tournament runs from May 30 to June 1 at Petit Stade and NPC Gymnasium in Remera. It brings together 18 teams (10 men’s and 8 women’s).
