Africa-Press – Rwanda. Israeli cyclist Itamar Einhorn took the yellow jersey after winning Stage 2 of Tour du Rwanda 2024 from Muhanga to Kibeho on Monday, February 19.
Itamar, who rides for UCI Pro team Israel Premier Tech, outsprinted the likes of William Junior Lecerf and Pepijn Reinderink, both from Soudal Quick-Step, and Javier Serrano Rodriguez of Team Polti Kometa to cross the finish line first in Kibeho, covering 129.4 km in three hours, 17 minutes and 31 seconds.
With the victory, Itamar became the first Israeli to win a stage in Tour du Rwanda. He is also the Israel National Road champion for the last two years.
Team Eritrea’s Merhawi Kudus, who is chasing his second Tour du Rwanda victory after winning the race in 2019, finished in the top 10.
