Africa-Press – Seychelles. Still a long way to go
With the hectic second round of the national leagues already tipped-off in a new format that will supposedly lift the standard of local competitions, and bring more entertainment and income, fans should definitely not expect any change in the level of officiating, after a whole cohort recently failed miserably in their attempt to obtain a Fédération internationale de Basket-ball amateur (Fiba) level one certificate.
The four-day training took place at the Roche Caïman swimming pool meeting room – theory sessions –while the Victoria Gymnasium hosted the practical element of the training which was being facilitated by Fiba international instructor Ahmed El Falaky.
A Fiba level one referee is an entry-level certification designed for individuals beginning their officiating journey in basketball.
This qualification is typically the first step in a structured pathway that progresses from local competitions to potentially officiating at national and international levels.
