Led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) John Fayiah Tumbay, Head of the Peacekeeping Department, the team also included Jones Sarfo from the AU and Thomas Aggrey-Fynn from AUSSOM. Their visit formed part of a week-long intensive pre-deployment training programme organised for the six Contingent of the Sierra Leone Formed Police Unit (FPU -6) preparing for peacekeeping duties.

The training, held at the Sierra Leone Peacekeeping and Law Enforcement Academy (SILEA), aims to equip officers with tactical skills and practical scenario-based exercises relevant to their upcoming deployment.

In his remarks, Inspector General Fayia Sellu welcomed the delegation and highlighted that the Sierra Leone FPU has already undergone comprehensive training. He expressed confidence in their preparedness and welcomed further tactical instruction from the visiting experts, underscoring the importance of realistic training to prepare officers for the challenges they may face.

IGP Fayia Sellu assured the visitors of Sierra Leone’s ongoing support for global peace efforts and wished them success as they commence their training. The visit concluded with a group photograph to mark the occasion.
