The Orange Sierra Leone Foundation, spearheaded by Director Annie Katta and Orange Sierra Leone General Secretary Danetta Younge, recently concluded a series of strategic courtesy visits to key government ministries and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Sierra Leone.
The engagements aimed to align efforts and foster collaboration in critical sectors to drive national development.
Discussions with the Minister of Tertiary and Higher Education, Dr. Ramatulai Wurie, centered on enhancing digital skills, expanding technical education, and integrating essential soft skills into the curriculum. The objective is to better equip communities for future challenges and opportunities.
The Orange Sierra Leone Foundation team also met with the Minister of Health, Dr. Austin Demby, to explore avenues for deepening existing collaborations and strengthening health initiatives across the nation.
During a meeting with the Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Madam Nabeela Farida Tunis, insights were shared on potential collaborative projects aimed at celebrating and promoting Sierra Leone’s rich cultural heritage.
In a separate engagement, the Orange Sierra Leone Foundation team was welcomed by the UNDP in Sierra Leone Resident Representative, Fredrick Ampiah. Mr. Ampiah reiterated the UNDP’s commitment to partnering with strategic organizations like the Orange Foundation to drive transformative change, particularly through digital inclusion and innovation for women and youth across Sierra Leone.
Across all engagements, there was a shared commitment to create sustainable impact in communities, guided by the Foundation’s pillars: Health, Education, and Culture.
