Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) announced today, Tuesday, 2nd December 2025, that it has received the sum of one hundred and twenty thousand Leones (NLe 120,000) from the leadership of the All People’s Congress (APC).
The payment is in response to a fine imposed on the party in November for contravening the Political Parties Act (No. 25) of 2022.
The fine was originally levied on Monday, 17th November 2025, following a breach of Section 39(1)(d) of the Act by Hon. Lahai Marrah, the Falaba District Chairman of the APC. The breach occurred on Saturday, 15th November 2025, prompting the Commission to take action.
In its statement, the PPRC expressed its gratitude to the APC for promptly complying with the fine and reiterated its commitment to ensuring that political parties and their members operate within the bounds of the law.
The Commission emphasized the importance of continuing to uphold legal standards and encouraged all members, supporters, and operatives of the APC to conduct themselves within legal confines moving forward.
The PPRC also called on the APC to take further steps to ensure compliance with regulations and to maintain a law-abiding posture in future activities.
The PPRC, based in Freetown, Sierra Leone, plays a crucial role in regulating political parties and ensuring the proper conduct of elections and party activities across the country.
