Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay, has hosted a delegation from the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) for a constructive engagement on Sierra Leone’s ongoing constitutional and electoral reform processes.
The meeting, held in Freetown, centered on the importance of collaboration between the Government and opposition in advancing reforms that directly affect the country’s democratic governance.
Discussions focused on the constitutional review process and the implementation of the Tripartite Committee recommendations two key reforms currently underway.
According to the Ministry of Justice, both the Government and the APC emphasized that the reform processes must remain people-centered, inclusive, participatory, and credible, ensuring that citizens fully own the outcomes.
Attorney General Sesay expressed the Government’s readiness to continue engaging all political parties, noting that broad participation is essential for national development and democratic consolidation.
He added that sustained dialogue with political actors strengthens trust, promotes transparency, and ensures that reforms reflect the aspirations of Sierra Leoneans across all regions.
The Government reaffirmed its commitment to further engagements as part of efforts to build consensus-driven governance structures.
“Together, for the people of Sierra Leone,” the Ministry noted, underscoring its pledge to work collaboratively in the country’s interest.
