Juma Bah's Recent Form Raises Defensive Concerns

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Sierra Leone’s International Defender, Abdulai Juma Bah, is under scrutiny in the ongoing season after a series of inconsistent performances that contrast sharply with the impressive campaign he delivered last year.

According to observations made in a recent assessment, Bah’s previous season “showcased his potential,” but this year he has “struggled to find consistency and maintain his usual composure on the pitch.”

The assessment notes that Bah has been “frequently losing his position, lacking physical presence in duels, and often getting exposed during open play transitions.”

Those concerns were further highlighted in last night’s match against Marseille, where the report states that “both Aubameyang and Mason Greenwood repeatedly exploited his vulnerabilities, leaving him chasing the game.”

Despite the difficulties, the report acknowledged Bah’s natural ability, saying “there’s no doubt Juma Bah has the talent,” but stressed that the defender “will need to rediscover his form and confidence if he hopes to return to the level that once made him stand out.”

Bah is currently on loan at OGC Nice from English Premier League club, Manchester City. The youngster caught the eyes Guardiola after a stellar performance in his first professional season in Europe playing for Real Valladolid in the Spanish La Liga. He was rated among the top talented youngsters that season before signing for City and joining RC Lens on loan weeks later. Bah had a good season at RC Lens but City needed him to develop further thereby loaning him out again to Nice.

Fans are hopeful the Sierra Leonean skipper could rediscover his form, and eventually feature for City in the next campaign.
