Citizen Voices Concerns About Ferry Junction Traffic

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. A prominent journalist and Lecturer at Fourah Bay College, Sheku Putka Kamara, has raised alarm over severe traffic congestion at Ferry Junction in eastern Freetown, urging immediate improvements to the road infrastructure.

Kamara criticized the current state of the ferry junction/Bomeh road, stating, “SLRA, the ferry junction/Bomeh road is becoming something else. Fixing that route now would be prudent. The scene now causes unbearable and unnecessary traffic.”

Emphasizing the importance of the junction, Kamara expressed hope for swift action, saying, “Hoping that we’d sort same ASAP because its significance cannot be overstated.”

In a previous piece, Kamara advocated for enhanced public education on zebra crossings by the Sierra Leone Roads Safety Authority (SLRSA). While he acknowledged recent improvements, he insisted that more efforts are needed.

“Clearly, we don’t have it all as a country, but institutions charged with certain responsibilities should not treat things with levity. We all deserve better,” he asserted.

In closing, Kamara expressed optimism for future developments, stating, “May the best things continue to happen!”
