Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. It’s an undisputed fact that water scarcity in Wellington has been a perennial problem which largely has a direct impact on the livelihood of the people.

Since Adam was a boy, residents of Wellington and Constituency 115 to be precise have been going through endless difficulties in accessing safe drinking water, especially during the dry season.

This extensive suffering to access water captured the sympathy of Hon. Bah since when he was not even a Honourable Member.

Today, through the advocacy of Hon. Lawyer Bah, he has succeeded in winning a mega project worth € 89.589.5 (One Billion One Hundred and Fifty-Five Million Three Hundred and Seventeen Thousand Six Hundred and Seventy Nine Leones-Old Leones) through S/L Brewery Limited and African Heineken Foundation.The project which when completed will benefit more than 15 communities and over 26,000 residents in Wellington will certainly pose an ease on the decade problem of water shortage in some of these catchment communities in Constituency 115 that comprise Peacock Farm, Up-Mountain, Mellon Street, Beccle Street, Hill Top, Philip Street, Tar Road, Up Zion, Samura Town, Mello and many other communities within Ward 405 and 406 respectively.This timely and much needed project will rehabilitate and improve the two existing Water Gravity Systems situated at Up Mountain Peacock Farm and Loko Town Upper Philip Street.

Hon. Bah upon receiving the dome cheque unreservedly thanked the Management and Staff of S/Leone Brewery Limited and Heineken Foundation for their countless supports towards the people of Wellington and his Constituency in general.

He vowed to fully monitor the project for its successful implementation by the contracting company- KADA S/Leone. He however called on the residents of Wellington to be patronizing with S/Leone Brewery Limited by purchasing their products as the sales proceeds will revert to the Community and besides, Sierra Leone Brewery Limited is the baby of Wellingtonians.Councillor Koto-P of Ward 405 and Councillor Lucky of Ward 406 also expressed similar sentiments and profusely thanked Brewery for their tremendous work done for the people of Wellington over the years.
