Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Sierra Leone male national football team, Leone Stars, safely arrived in Monrovia, Liberia, ahead of their crucial match against Ethiopia on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville, Monrovia.

Sierra Leone is in group A and the Group is currently led by Egypt, sitting on 18 points, Burkina Faso in second place with 11 points, and Sierra Leone carrying 8 points. Both Ethiopia and Guinea-Bissau have 6 points each, while Djibouti is at the bottom with a single point.

Meanwhile, the Leone Stars will play Ethiopia on September 9, Burkina Faso on October 6, before their final match against Djibouti on October 13.

Furthermore, regarding the match against Ethiopia on Tuesday, the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced that free buses will be made available for Leone Stars supporters who wish to travel to Monrovia, Liberia, for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Ethiopia.

The arrangement, made possible through SLFA President Babadi Kamara, aims to help fans attend the game and support the national team in large numbers, especially with the match being played away from home.
