Musa Tombo Returns to Sierra Leone After Transfer Failure

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Sierra Leonean football sensation Musa Noah Kamara, widely known as Musa Tombo, has returned to Freetown this morning, arriving at Freetown International Airport at 6:50 AM with his fiancée, Memunatu Sow, on an Air Maroc flight.

Their arrival follows the swift termination of his contract with Tunisian club Club Sportif Sfaxien (CSS), a development that has sent ripples of emotion through the West African nation.

Bo Rangers Football Club officially confirmed on July 31, 2025, the annulment of the transfer agreement with CSS for their star striker. This decision came after Kamara formally declared his intent to terminate the deal.

In a letter addressed to CSS, Bo Rangers Secretary General Abu Bakarr Bangura stated that based on Kamara’s formal statement and accompanying documentation, the transfer agreement was considered “null and void with immediate effect.” Bo Rangers expressed gratitude to CSS for their transparency and ethical handling of the matter, declaring the file closed on their end.

New information surfaced on July 30, 2025, offering insight into the abrupt termination. Sources close to the situation revealed that Kamara reportedly fainted twice during training sessions with FC Sfaxien. Furthermore, he allegedly expressed a strong desire to return to Sierra Leone to participate in local inter-community leagues, a revelation that reportedly disappointed his agent and other parties involved.

Earlier reports had attributed Kamara’s departure to an undisclosed FIFA ban preventing FC Sfaxien from registering new players, suggesting Kamara was unwilling to be sidelined indefinitely.

Kamara had only departed Sierra Leone for Tunisia six days prior to the news of his contract termination, with the expectation of completing a medical and signing a potential three-year deal.
