Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. President Dr. Julius Maada Bio convened a meeting with the leadership of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and All People’s Congress (APC) members of parliament to discuss fostering collaboration among the country’s political leaders.
The meeting, held on Monday, July 7th, 2025, aimed to strengthen unity and cooperation in addressing national issues.
During the discussions, the Parliamentarians congratulated President Bio on his election as Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
President Bio remarked, “I had a very positive and productive meeting with the leadership of SLPP and APC members of parliament. They kindly expressed their congratulations on my election as Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS.”
The President asserted the importance of prioritizing the nation’s welfare over political affiliations, stating, “I believe it’s essential to emphasize that the progress we make is for the benefit of our beloved country, Sierra Leone, rather than any specific party.” He highlighted the potential for collective achievements when political leaders work together.
He conveyed optimism about the future, asserting, “I am truly happy that we can all recognize the positive impact of our collective achievements. Together, as Sierra Leoneans, I am confident that we will continue to work closely to implement innovative and forward-thinking development initiatives for the betterment of our nation.”
