Security Forces Conduct Controlled Bomb Exercise in Kenema

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Security authorities in Kenema City on Tuesday conducted a controlled bomb induction exercise at the Reservation Area. The operation was led by the Kenema Paramilitary Department under the command of Inspector Banard Ndomawa, with support from personnel of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF).

Before the exercise commenced, Inspector Ndomawa assured residents that comprehensive safety and security measures had been instituted to guide the operation. He noted that the joint team had taken all necessary precautions to minimise risks and safeguard community members during the exercise.

He further urged the public to remain vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious objects or unidentified devices to the nearest police station. Inspector Ndomawa warned about the dangers associated with explosive materials and advised residents to keep a safe distance whenever such items are discovered.

Authorities say the controlled operation forms part of broader efforts to strengthen community safety, improve emergency response readiness, and raise public awareness about bomb-related hazards in the region.
