Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Twitter has announced that it is working on an upcoming feature that will allow users to choose who can mention them in their own tweets, comments, or other tweets.
According to Jane Manchun, an app engineer who first discovered the feature, the new controls will give users the option to limit mentions.
The specific date for the release of the feature is yet to be known, but it will be rolled out globally.
Earlier this year, Twitter rolled out an ‘unmentioned’ feature to all users that allows them to remove tags from tweets they no longer want to appear on.
The new feature will be an addition to the already existing option.
This will help curb harassment, abuse, and trolls that happen on the platform.
