Africa-Press – South-Africa. The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning of severe thunderstorms for most parts of Johannesburg.
It said that the heavy rains may lead to flooding in low-lying areas.
Johannesburg emergency services have urged motorists to drive with caution and extend a safe following distance.
Joburg EMS spokesperson Robert Muluadzi urged residents to also avoid crossing flooded roads.
“Our residents in our low-lying areas, especially in informal settlements, to avoid crossing river streams while conducting daily activities. We remain on high alert.”
