Africa-Press – South-Africa. The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) Youth Brigade in KwaZulu-Natal has labelled the motion of no confidence in Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli as political grandstanding.
The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has tabled a motion to have Ntuli removed as head government in the province.
This was followed by a chaotic protest outside the legislature, where all members of the provincial legislature (MPLs) were sitting.
House Speaker Nontembeko Boyce announced: “Having considered all these processes, I therefore announce that the debate and voting on the MK motion will take place on Monday 15 December 2025.”
Following the announcement, dramatic scenes of MK Party members emerged outside.
Party members chanted songs demanding Ntuli vacate his post.
The IFP Youth Brigade has accused the MK Party of wanting to disrupt service delivery in the province.
It said the demonstration while there is a pending motion was reckless.
“This reckless behaviour demonstrates that the MK Party is prepared to derail progress for the sake of spectacle. By wasting legislative time with baseless motions, the MK Party is actively attempting to deprive communities of focused, uninterrupted, and efficient service delivery.”
The motion will be heard in a hybrid sitting in the next two weeks and voting will be done through a secret ballot.
