Africa-Press – South-Sudan. Governor Riek Gai Kok on Monday held a peace rally at Pading Headquarters in Nyirol County where he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening peace, unity, and development across Jonglei State.
Speaking to hundreds of residents, the Governor said his government will continue prioritizing stability as the foundation for progress. He urged communities to maintain harmony and cooperation, stressing that peace is essential for delivering services and improving livelihoods.
During the rally, local leaders—including chiefs, youth representatives, and traditional authorities raised concerns over poor infrastructure, limited access to basic services, and the need for stronger government presence at the grassroots level.
They appealed for roads, clean water, health facilities, and improved security to support community growth.
Governor Riek acknowledged the development gaps and promised increased attention to service delivery in remote counties. He praised the people of Pading for their resilience and continued support for peaceful coexistence.
The rally concluded with renewed calls for unity, with the Governor encouraging residents to uphold peace daily and remain hopeful for a more prosperous future.
