Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE newly appointed Chama Cha Mapinduzi CCM Secretary General, Dr Asha Rose Migiro, has exuded confidence that the ruling party will garner a landslide victory in the October 29, 2025 General Election.

She made the assurance in Dodoma yesterday after she arrived at the party’s headquarters for the first time since she was appointed to the post last weekend. In a vibrant display of support and unity, Dr Migiro was greeted by an ecstatic crowd at the party’s headquarters, affectionately known as the ‘White House’.

The atmosphere was electric as party faithful gathered to celebrate her new role, bringing a kaleidoscope of colours and chants that echoed through the halls of the historic building.

Dr Migiro, a distinguished politician and diplomat, officially assumed her position yesterday, taking the reins from Ambassador Emmanuel Nchimbi, who has been nominated as the running mate to President Samia Suluhu Hassan for the upcoming General Election. Her appointment marks a significant moment in the party’s history, as she steps into the shoes of a seasoned leader, ready to navigate the political landscape ahead.

The gathering attracted a mammoth crowd, a testament to Dr Migiro’s influence and the optimism surrounding her leadership.

Supporters donned party regalia, waving flags and chanting popular CCM songs that have become anthems of their campaign spirit.

The resounding chorus of voices filled the air, a harmonious blend of hope and determination signifying their commitment to the party’s vision. In her first address as Secretary-General, Dr Migiro expressed heartfelt gratitude to the members who turned out in droves to show their support.

“This attendance indicates that we are going to clinch a massive victory,” she declared, her voice buoyed by the encouragement of the crowd. “Thank you all for the trust you have bestowed upon me, together, we will steer our beloved party towards success in the upcoming election.” Dr Migiro’s political journey has been marked by resilience and dedication.

Having previously served as the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and a cabinet minister under President Jakaya Kikwete’s administration, her extensive experience is set to play a crucial role in her new responsibilities.

Though she sought the presidential candidacy in 2015, she graciously accepted defeat to the late Dr John Magufuli and has continued to serve the party with unwavering commitment.

Speaking at a colourful reception, the immediate outgoing Secretary-General, Dr Nchimbi thanked all members of the party during his term in office. He expressed optimism that Dr Migiro will deliver based on her leadership qualities.
