Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA is all set for the Africa Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization Conference, which will take place in Dar es Salaam from February 3 to 6, 2026. The conference will coincide with the launch of the National Agricultural Mechanization Strategy, Phase Two.
Speaking to journalists today in Dar es Salaam, the Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Albert Chalamila, said the conference is being organized jointly by Tanzania’s Ministry of Agriculture and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
Chalamila said the conference will provide an opportunity for African countries to share experiences, strengthen regional cooperation, and accelerate the adoption of modern agricultural tools and technologies. The initiative aims to drive sustainable transformation of the agricultural sector in Tanzania and across the African continent.
He added that during the conference, the Prime Minister will officially launch the National Agricultural Mechanization Strategy, Phase Two, which will serve as a key framework for increasing agricultural productivity and efficiency through the use of modern technologies.
The conference is expected to bring together various agricultural stakeholders from within and outside the country and will be attended by the Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba.
