AfricaPress-Tanzania: YOUNG Africans Head Coach Cedric Kaze is happy with his side’s ongoing improvement, adding that their 2-1 victory against Ruvu Shooting has fuelled more energy for them to bravely compete against any other side in the Mainland Premier league.
The 2-1 triumph at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam saw the Jangwani Street based side reaching 34 points at the summit of the Premier League table as the splint towards the championship escalates.
On the other hand, Ruvu Shooting despite being a thorn in fresh for Yanga on the day, remain glued at the fourth slot of the table with 23 points from 13 encounters.
Up next, Yanga will travel to Shinyanga to play against Mwadui FC at CCM Kambarage Stadium on Saturday before heading to Arusha to host Dodoma FC at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium.
However, at a post match briefing, Kaze lauded his charges for displaying high level football offensively and defensively versus a team he said was well organised.
“We faced a well organised team which has got an experienced coach who understand better the Premier League but, we have managed to make statement that we are in the league to compete. “Looking at this game from a technical side, one wonders why we managed to score only two goals as we had instances to net more than two goals,” Kaze narrated.
Moreover, the Burundian coach hailed positive mind from the players saying after missing the spot kick, they conceded an equalising goal to make the game balance (1-1) saying that did not cool down the team’s morale until they scored the second goal.
“Thereafter, we squandered hosts of scoring chances but the most important thing is the three points we have garnered from a very difficult team. The most important thing is for the players to maintain consistency of playing well in all games and not only one match,” said he.
About the arrival of striker Saidi Ntibazonkiza, Kaze said he believes that he will add something positive to the team basing on his vast experience of the game of football plus adding confidence to his teammates.
“Failing to score goals does not mean that a player is bad but sometimes, that happens because of low confidence. With Ntibazonkiza’s arrival, definitely confidence levels of some players will improve,” he noted.
