CCM Promises Farmers Reliable Markets

Africa-Press – Tanzania. CCM presidential running mate, Ambassador Emmanuel Nchimbi has pledged major reforms in the agricultural sector, including reliable markets for farmers through the establishment of crop-based industries in every district.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Muheza District yesterday, Amb Nchimbi assured supporters that if re-elected in the October 29 General Election, the CCM government will prioritise agricultural transformation and rural industrialisation.

“We are committed to ensuring every district has industries aligned with its dominant crops. Our goal is to build an industrialised Tanzania, where farmers earn real value from their hard work through guaranteed markets provided by local processing industries,” he said.

He added that the processed products would also be exported to international markets, significantly boosting farmers’ incomes.

Amb Nchimbi noted that this strategy would particularly benefit farmers of tea, sisal, cereals and other crops who have long suffered from fluctuating or unreliable markets.

The CCM running mate also outlined the party’s commitment to improving other critical sectors, including health, education, livestock, water and transportation.

In the health sector, he pledged to expand Muheza District Hospital to provide specialised services similar to those available in referral hospitals.

In addition, the government plans to build three new health centres and ten dispensaries in the district.

“We will also increase the number of doctors and nurses to ensure citizens have access to quality and reliable healthcare,” he said.

On education, Amb Nchimbi said the government would build ten new primary schools and five secondary schools, as well as add 215 classrooms for primary schools and 115 for secondary schools.

He also announced the construction of 20 libraries to boost academic performance, particularly in science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

To address water shortages, he announced that 12 water projects, including deep wells, will be implemented to improve access to clean and safe water across the district.

Earlier, the party’s candidate for Muheza parliamentary constituency, Mr Khamis Mwinjuma (popularly known as Mwana FA), applauded the sixth phase government under President Samia for enhancing social and economic services in the constituency.

He noted that the number of functioning health centres in Muheza had increased from one to four, all of which are now operational, reflecting the government’s commitment to improved public service delivery.
