Dr Samia Unveils Government Strategy Against Game Threats

Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Chama Cha Mapinduzi presidential candidate, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has assured residents of Ruangwa District in Lindi Region that the government has put in place a strong strategy to curb the threat posed by dangerous and destructive wild animals invading farmers’ fields.

She stated that urgent measures are being taken to provide a lasting solution to this challenge.

Speaking at a campaign rally held today, September 24, 2025, Dr. Samia sought to ease fears among the local residents, emphasizing that the government recognizes the importance of protecting the lives and property of citizens while also respecting and conserving the country’s wildlife and nature reserves.

“If you see those animals, tell them their remedy is already cooking. We love our reserves and we love our wildlife, but we must protect people and restrict the animals to their designated areas to prevent them from destroying farmers’ crops,” said Dr. Samia.

She further stated that while the government values national parks and the lives of wild animals, it is essential to set boundaries to ensure the animals do not cross into farmlands, where they cause significant damage. Dr. Samia added that food security and agricultural development cannot be achieved if farmers continue to face invasions by wild animals.

This campaign visit is part of Dr. Samia’s efforts to present CCM’s policies ahead of the upcoming general election scheduled for October this year. While in Ruangwa, she reiterated that her party is committed to bringing development to the people and addressing their challenges practically, including resolving human-wildlife conflicts.
