Africa-Press – Tanzania. NEW Inspector General of Police (IGP) Camillus Wambura has laid out his key priorities, saying he envisages transforming the force and ensuring efficiency in justice delivery.
Shortly after being sworn-in by President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the Chamwino State House in Dodoma, on Wednesday, the new Chief of Police Force vowed to heighten the fight against crimes.
Speaking after he arrived at the Police Headquarters in the city where his predecessor IGP Simon Sirro handed over the office to the new Police Chief, IGP Wambura said he would work closely with his subordinates, including commissioners and other executives, to win the war against crimes.
He sent a stern warning to criminals, saying they should not consider crime as an employment.
“We will deploy a massive and modern force to fight the vice in order to make the country safe and let the government continue with its activities without interference,” he said, adding: “My biggest task is to ensure that crimes across the country come to an end.”
