Africa-Press – Tanzania. The Central Committee of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has announced, through an official statement released Tuesday from the party’s headquarters in Dodoma, the names of members who have advanced to the next stage of the nomination process for the Bumbuli parliamentary seat.

According to the statement, a total of six candidates have been shortlisted to proceed in the internal vetting process.

The notable absent from the list is January Makamba, the outgoing Member of Parliament for Bumbuli.

The statement noted that the selection process was based on various criteria including leadership qualities, communication skills with the public, integrity, and the candidate’s contribution to the development of the party and the nation as a whole.

This decision comes as part of CCM’s preparations for the upcoming General Election set for October 29, 2025. The party has reiterated its commitment to fielding competent, ethical, and community-approved candidates capable of delivering sustainable development.
