Africa-Press – Tanzania. PROFESSIONAL golfer Fadhil Nkya has cemented his dominance on the Tanzanian golf scene after securing his fourth consecutive victory in the Lina PG Tour Pro-Am 2025 Series.

The latest triumph came in Morogoro during the 72-hole tournament, the fourth leg of the five-event tour established in honour of Nkya’s late mother, Lina Said Nkya, a revered former national player and long-serving Tanzania Ladies Golf Union (TLGU) official.

Organised by the Nkya family in collaboration with TLGU, the Tanzania Professional Golfers Association (TPGA) and Penda Golf Tanzania, the tour has become a crucial platform for nurturing golf talent across the country.

Representing Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club (DGC), Nkya posted a total score of +16, edging out clubmate Rajab Iddy (+19) by three shots. Iddy had entered the final round as the leader but lost ground under pressure.

Nkya’s win not only keeps him atop the national golf rankings but also marks a milestone in tour history.

He is now the first golfer to win four straight Lina Tour titles, and the first to complete a hat-trick of wins since the series began last year.

With one event left on the 2025 calendar, Nkya is on the brink of an unprecedented fifth straight title.

The final leg, initially slated for December 18–21 at Kili Golf Club, Arusha, has been postponed indefinitely.

Tournament organiser Yasmin Chali said the decision came after thorough consultations, apologising for any inconvenience and thanking all stakeholders for their patience.

Nkya has already earned 27.2m/- in prize money, the highest single-season earnings by a Tanzanian professional golfer.

In the elite amateur category, Isihaka Daudi of TPDF Lugalo Golf Club held on for a dramatic win in Morogoro despite a shaky final round.

Daudi finished the event at 1-under-par (-1), weathering a closing round of 76 (+4) after earlier posting impressive scores of 69 (-3), 68 (-4) and 74 (+2).

His strong early form proved crucial as he captured his second Lina Tour title of the season, following his victory at TPC Moshi in Kilimanjaro.

The win also earned him valuable World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points, strengthening his prospects for future international representation.

Daudi’s return carried emotional weight; he had missed the July Lugalo series due to the passing of his mother. That event was won by his clubmate, Prosper Emmanuel.

Wanyeche siblings shine Enosh Wanyeche (Lugalo) finished one stroke behind Daudi at +1, firing a steady final-round 73 (+1) to take second among amateurs.

His sister, Hawa Wanyeche, made history by becoming the first female elite amateur to finish among the top prize recipients in the series.

Her final-day 71 (-1) the only under-par round of the day that elevated her to +18, securing third among amateurs and fourth overall.

Prosper Emmanuel placed fourth in the amateur category with +29, followed by J James (+31), rounding out the top five.

In the professional category, Hassan Kadio of DGC and Nuru Mollel of Arusha Gymkhana Club (AGC) shared third place with matching scores of +20 in the last event. Rounding out the top five was John Said of AGC, who posted a total of +21 to finish in fifth place.

Close behind were Elisante Lembris (+22) and John Leonce (+23), both from Arusha Gymkhana Club (AGC). Salum Dilunga (DGC) posted +25 while Angel Eaton (TPDF Lugalo) was among the prize recipients as Tanzania’s only female professional golfer.

Isaac Wanyeche (Kili Golf), an early co-leader who slipped but remained among the top earners.

As the tour awaits its rescheduled final leg in Arusha, all eyes will be on Fadhil Nkya as he pursues a historic fifth consecutive title, a feat that would further elevate his stature in Tanzanian golf.

The 2025 Lina PG Tour continues its mission of honouring Lina Nkya’s legacy, nurturing local golf talent, and raising the profile of Tanzanian golf nationally and internationally.
