Africa-Press – Tanzania. The National League for Democracy (NLD) presidential candidate, Doyo Hassan Doyo, has assured Tanzanians that the government he will lead will be one of equality, hope, and development for every Tanzanian without discrimination, with his main goal being to strengthen social and economic equality.
Doyo has made it clear that the NLD government will ensure that special groups in the country are given the opportunity and support they deserve.
“My government will allocate special grants for people with special needs. We will establish a specific system to help them directly, without bureaucracy, without queues, and without having to go through the doors of ministries that do not have quick responses to people in need,” he said.
He said the move aims to ensure that every Tanzanian has an equal opportunity to live with dignity, be economically independent, and participate fully in building a new nation with dignity, patriotism, justice and development.
In addition, Doyo said his government will ensure the existence of a special identity for people with special needs, especially people with disabilities, in line with specific national strategies to provide housing, good health, basic education, and psychological services to vulnerable and disadvantaged groups, to strengthen social equality.
“We want a Tanzania with economic equality, a clean environment, and a government that hears the cries of every citizen. This is not a dream, it is the vision of the NLD, and I am ready to lead a new Tanzania with hope for all,” said Hon. Doyo Hassan Doyo, NLD Presidential Candidate.
In another move, Doyo has strongly discussed the plan to reduce the use of charcoal in the country by promoting the use of clean cooking gas.
He said the NLD government will reduce taxes on investors involved in gas services, a move that will open the door for companies to provide free gas cylinders to all Tanzanians and reduce the cost of gas so that every household can afford the use of clean energy.
“If some telephone companies today are providing free lines, tomorrow my government will ensure that every Tanzanian gets a free gas cylinder. Your responsibility will be to buy gas only at an affordable price! This is the modern way of development, clean energy, a safe environment, a better life for all Tanzanians,” said Hon. Doyo to applause.
He added that the plan will help reduce the cost of living, protect forests, and strengthen the household economy, as many families will save money they used to cut trees for firewood and charcoal.
Also, his government will ban deforestation without special permits and formalize the charcoal trade, while Tanzanians are encouraged to use environmentally friendly technology.
Doyo has emphasized setting a strategy to plant 100 million trees over a five-year period, to restore the natural environment, preserve biodiversity, and combat climate change.
Doyo has asked the people of Kilimanjaro to vote for him, while advising them to adhere to his five main promises that he has made and promised in the region.
