Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE presidential running mate from the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, has been officially honoured and installed as the Assistant Chief to Chifu Hangaya (Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan).
This traditional ceremony took place today, September 3, 2025, in Kishapu District, Shinyanga Region, at the Muhunze Daladala Bus Stand Grounds. The event was led by Chifu Kidola Njange, who also serves as the Chairman of Traditional Chiefs in the Shinyanga Region.
During the installation, Dr. Nchimbi was dressed in a black shawl, symbolizing dark rain clouds, which represent blessings and prosperity for the people of Tanzania. He was also adorned with a red shawl, signifying his readiness to protect the peace and stability of the nation.
To further reinforce his cultural leadership role, Dr. Nchimbi was presented with a spear, a symbol of protecting the country’s traditions and customs, and a simbi necklace, representing love and solidarity between him and the traditional leaders as well as the people of Shinyanga. Additionally, he was given a usinga (a ceremonial whisk), symbolizing his responsibility to calm and bless the people for peace and national harmony.
Dr. Nchimbi arrived in Shinyanga Region to continue CCM’s election campaign ahead of the General Election. He officially launched his campaign activities in Kishapu District, the very place where he now holds the honorary title of Assistant Chief.
